Your waisting your time, remember this is a guy that waits for the oil light to come on (1 1/2 qts low) before he thinks about adding any oil.

wasting is I've explained myself before. I didn't realize it was that low or I would have added it sooner. Its not as if I waited that long on purpose. Everybody makes mistakes. I'm always open to feedback. That's why I make these posts, to get feedback from knowledgeable people to make sure I'm doing the right thing. What I don't need is comments like yours distracting people from giving helpful comments. I would appreciate it if you would refrain from doing that in the future. If there is something I need to know about TBN, let's hear it. I'm all ears. From what I can tell, that oil is in good shape.

Ignore the argumentative.
I still don't see the TBN on that report, sometimes you have to pay extra for that analysis. At 10,000 miles my TBN on Mobil 1 TDT ranges from 3.5 to 4.3 left.

Iron is fine. My analyst says a concentration of 100-120ppm is high enough to warrant a change.
Iron will continue to accumulate. I see the same 20-30ppm increase per 10k. No dilution, soot or viscosity issues. Like the report said and from my experience, carry on and dont sweat it. If you dont change it til July there will still be no issue. you have the proof.

Your looking for helpful comments, Ok ! I'll start with making a mistake like what you did could have been a very costly mistake. I suggest checking your oil at least once every two weeks, with the engine cold and on flat ground If your planning a trip, always check the oil before you take off and before you head back home. Always keep a quart or two with you when your traveling. If your towing and the mileage is on the higher side then I would suggest changing the oil before you take off. Oil analysis is good, IMO don't push it. There has been a few that did the analysis about every 5k all was good until one check it again @ 15K and metal was found in the oil. This was about a year ago when one guy mentioned this and a few other followed saying the same thing. They vowed to not push it this far again, its not worth the stress when there is bad news. I've done analysis a few times but since I change every 4-5k or 6 months which ever comes first I don't mess with it. I use Castrol Hypuron 15-40 which is a synthetic blend. http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7080527 I would rather put the cost towards a oil change. If I was using a full synthetic like you do I would probably go 7-8K but I would still go by the 6 month rule. On severe duty like towing I would change sooner. If you do a lot of highway towing and have a oil by-pass and don't do much in town driving you can go much farther. Stop and go driving kills the oil life sooner. I'm sorry for the spelling, I did not realize I was entered into the Diesel Place spelling bee. But here are a few examples on using the spelling of waisting. Area rule Although the rule still applies, the visible fuselage "waisting" can only be seen on a few aircraft, such as the B-1B Lancer , Learjet 60 ... Penalty (golf) Illegal clubs include clubs with a clubhead greater than 460cc, clubs with a concave face, shaft lengths over 48", grips with waisting, ... My Man and the Devil on His Shoulder is saying even though she hasn't found an evidence of her lover cheating she knows he is saying: "I ain't waisting my time, I'm outta here". ...

Im no expert by far. But for a few bucks I'd personally change the oil. I have like you a pretty expensive toy, and for a few bucks for an oil change sure beats a few grand on a rebuild. Do you remember the commercial? Pay me now or pay me latter. Their hoping for the latter.

I go by the DIC which has taken me out to 10,000 miles even on an LMM. I have gotten a couple Black-Stone oil analysis with TBN done to check on the health of the oil and engine. Only issue is fuel in the oil due to the 1st design of the DPF system. For that reason I would never go further than 10,000 miles, or 1 year whichever comes first.
