All you need to do is treat the stuff and you should be good to go. Throw a quart of Power Service in the tank... possibly two... and you should be good to go.

Keep in mind if your last fill was before Oct 01, you may have problems now. Even our (Canadian) summer fuel will gel at about +15F (-12C).

If you have it inside and get it running, treat the fuel with your favorite conditioner, drive it, or even idle it all day, then fuel up with you winter fuel. Diluting the summer fuel over the next few tanks will help. Even in the northern USA, they should be giving you somewhat of a winter blend. In Canada our fuel is now workable to -40 C or F (same cold temp). Our winter fuels are more like stove oil, thin flowing, less heat per ounce, gives less MPG, and costs the same.

Fuel up at a truck stop. They turn over the fuel enough so they will be have winter fuel. The corner service station may not have sold enough to get winter fuel yet.
