At what mileage would you consider selling/trading in your truck?
Our 2011 and 2012 are used commercially to haul horses so the miles rack up fairly quickly. 2011 is at 82k already. We traded in our 2007 at 200k and still got fairly decent money for it. We do have the added expense of installing Transflow 100 gallon tanks, 5th wheel hitch and train horns to each truck so we like to run them as long as possible. On the other hand considering that this is my wife going over the road I don't need her getting stuck on the side of the road on a regular basis.

I'm going to go by memory as much as I can here for some of it, but the mileage is correct...that much I know. It was an LLY (04 or 05, dont remember which year) that was traded into a dealership in Colorado (I believe) that had 750K miles on it. Original engine, original trans, and original a lot of other parts as well. They said it had stuff like the water pump and bearings and other stuff like that done, but aside from a couple of stone chips, they said they've seen trucks with 50K miles on them that looked worse.
Mileage is just a number when it comes to over the road time. Once they are paid off, maintaining them is a lot less expensive for the most part than a new truck payment. If your trucks are stock and by that I mean no programmers and the like, there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to get three and four hundred K out of a truck. A new drivers seat is probably a couple of thousand installed. Thats two truck payments depending on the sticker of the truck. Do that every year or two after its paid off and run it until it starts to cost you money then get a new rig. If you search out that 750K duramax though, I'm sure you'll come across the article.

All i can say is that with the new bodystyles being released in 2014 which is just around the corner only got a year before they start to surface. The current body styles are gonna take a price retention hit when they become the older style. Just something to think about.
