Help chimes won't stop after attempt at reset!!!
I have a gmc 4500 and the fuel filter light (I think) came on today. I tried to reset it by pressing the brake and the gas.. As I read on here and now my truck chimes non stop please tell me what I can do!!!thanks

The fuel filter "light" doesn't activate a chime.
First money is on coolant level in the recovery/ degauss reservoir. How's about a picture of the warning lamp? Or a accurate description of the icon?

Ok well after my delicious Chinese dinner and a short prayer, I started the tru k and it chimed for a few secs then shut off!
Anywayyyy the light that is on is a gas can with what looks like a tire... Fuel filter? FYI the fuel filter has never been changed so i don't know... Might drain the filter in the AM |

LOL .... im trying to think of what warning lamp your describing
Id advise changing the fuel fiter period if you havnt . The lights that usually chime on mine are the ones in center of dash below AC controls . Mine was usually the brake light or a yellow one .. cant remember what it looks like and a random abs issue from hitting a hard bump and it would reset on its own . Not sure what light your talking about though . These truck will do some random things sometimes just from hard hits to the suspension |

 Lol heres the light! This light is under my radio.. We plow with this truck so i figured maybe it had some water in the tank or something. So we put some diesel 911 in there.. It still drives fine. **The chiming was from trying to reset this light. THANKFULLY they stopped. |

Well my shop mechanic looked at it.. Plugged in his computer and no codes were blown/ "outta whack" There was nothing for him to clear..
Maybe its a defect? might have to take it to the dealer... |
