Stereo replacement
Does anyone know if the basic deck in our vans is a GM class 2? Trying to figure out if I need this?

Yes, I had a in dash nav radio installed and my 06 needed it.

Mine has the most basic radio, thought maybe it didn't have the functions built into it?

Even the AM/FM only is a class II device.
