ABS and Brake light??

hello, I have a 2008 lmm chevrolet lt model. I experienced something I have never have before. We got snow and I was going up a hill in 2wd and I was spinning and all of a sudden my ABS and Brake light came on in the dash, and it also started dinging at me and the message center saying service trailer brake system. If you turn the truck off and turn it back on it goes away. I contaced the dealership and asked them about it and they did not do anything for me just said its possibly could be traction control..anyone else experience this??? thanks

I have had snow get packed around the ABS sensor and trip the light on my LBZ.

I have had the same problem. Clean the ground contacted to the frame. The location is right under driver side door hinge on the frame. Remove it, wire brush the contact area...paint it (coat it) to protect it from corrsion.

It will also do the same thing if the wire from the sensor near the wheels has frayed it's insulation and gets grounded - easy to happen if the front wheels are packed with snow. Prior to my sensor wires getting frayed and cut my truck would show the same symptoms as yours, but only then the front wheels were in a hard turn. This caused the sensor wire to rub on the wheel and tripped the alarm and light.

had the same thing happen to me on my '05 twice except without the service message.truck seemed to just bog down all of a sudden like the brakes were being applied.didn't know i had traction control but that is exactly what it felt like
