9.5" 10.5" or 11.5" rear end pinion seal option
pinion seal is leaking and im going to replace it, autozone said i have those 3 options(9.5, 10.5, 11.5), advance auto parts said it's a 10.5" anybody know?? also, once i remove drive shaft, and take nut off pinion; will the yoke slide right off or is it a pressed fit??

40006189 G18 GSC is cast into the rear end housing itself; does this help or mean anything?

Yep 11.5" ring gear, 14 bolt cover. AAM manufactures the axle and it has an Eaton G80 differential in it -- some few have open differentials.
Now this is for a Duramax or 8.1 liter gas engine. CNY6.5TD, I believe, works on drivelines professionally so he's a credible source for information.

I build driveshafts and work in a machine shop that does a wide array of repair and fabrication and the business is coupled with a truck shop that builds Fuel oil delivery trucks. So i do very little "professional repair" on duramax trucks, but im a chevy guy and try to stay up on the stuff. Its pretty simple though, 2500hd trucks have the 10.5 with 6.0s and 11.5s with a duramax or big block.

well i was ready to buzz the big nut off today with an impact and found out it's a size that i dont have(go figure) my 1 1/4" is too small, and 1 1/2" is too big, anybody know what size i need? I'm sure I can find it at work(bein an odd 12 point nut this big).
Also is there an actual torque spec for reinstalling this nut, or should i be ok just buzzing it up with the impact and not OVERTIGHTENING it? I've done this task on a half ton before and just buzzed it up, it's still fine to this day and that was 5 or 6 years ago. thanks again in advance
