Tire size for a Stock height Chevy 2500HD duramax
Hi guys,
Newbie here with a newbie question, i have done searches on forums and google and after all the research i have realized that i cannot fit the tires i just picked up with rims with out a lift. The rims i have are Moto Metal 20 x 9 8 lug on 6.5 the truck is a Silverado 2500HD crew cab short bed 6.6 The most i am willing to do is a level kit on the truck what is the largest tire i could fit with just a level kit ? OR what is the largest tire i could fit with no level kit and stock height? I want to use those rims i was thinking of 285/55r20 i am most def on a supper tight budget |

welcome to DP. I thought I read somewhere 31" is the biggest you can go be for you rub, After that you need a lift. Maybe someone with more expertise could chime in. Enjoy

All depends on your rim offset, size etc. I run 285's which is about a 33" on stock rims, and i just had to crank the torsion bars a little so they would clear. No rubbing.

Yeah it will say on the back of the wheels. I run 325/60/18's 33/1350/18 with alot of trimming and a little t-bar crank.

I'd go with the 285/55/20, you can get load range E in that size. They'll fit with a little trimming and your truck will still ride good and no stress on front end parts.
