235 85 16 on dually

I hate to start another thread for 235's on dually, but have been unable to satisfy my questions.

I want to put 235's on my dually, but don't want tire rub or to add spacers. I believe that there are differences in actual width of tire between manufacturers, although the tire stores here say they are all the same, and will not fit. Manufactures specifications for tire width vary from 9.2 to 9.5 inches. If this is correct, I should be able to find the narrowest 235, and have space between my duals. Also, according to specifications, there is usually 1/2 inch difference in width between a 215 and a 235, so I should only lose 1/2 inch space, 1/4 on each tire.

Does anyone run 235's without spacers, and with sufficient space between tires. If so, what kind of tire, and can you measure space and post photos.

Here's a picture of Cooper STTs on stock wheels.



They don't touch with no load, but may with a load. I put these on to test the spacing to make sure a spare would fit. I run aftermarket wheels so I have additional space.

make sure you buy 10pl tire then you will be ok with load

According to the manufacturers specs, that is the widest tire cooper makes. Section width is 9.70. Their other tires are 9.29-9.30. I bet your truck will get around in mud with those on.

Do you know what the offset is on your Goliaths?

I just put some 245"s MT/R's on my dually and they have about 1/4" gap so 235"s should have a tad bit more. I'm getting some kind of spacer cause I'm certain they will rub when loaded.

I had the same concerns, 07 classic duelly cc, I put on yokahamas, ats's
was told get 3 ply sidewalls and e rated for less flex, I carry a 2000 # camper and have about 1/4 inch space

How long have you had your A/T S Yokahamas? How are they wearing. I have H/T S on my dually, and the wear has been horrible. I think they have 30-35K and they are ready for replacement. Also, the shoulders keep cupping horribly (and quickly). I can't keep them rotated. I've had three tire shops look at my truck, and all three told me the allignment is fine, and there are no hard parts that need replaced.

Looks like the fronts are +102 and the rears are -140

Anyone know the offset on the factory rears? Also, I have Eagle 129/130 polished aluminum wheels. Where can I find the offset on them?

as for wearing on my ats yokahamas, there good, I heard they changed there rubber compound cause they had problems with the older ones they even put a 50k warranty on them, if I go to a heavier camper I think I will go with freds 1/4" spacers
