I would rather have the small step in the bumper than the big retarded contraption Ford has farmed into the dead center of their tailgates. I keep seeing them where I work and if you haul any thing flat that goes back over the tailgate you have to pad stuff to make sure you dont tear the stupid things out. BTW the step was in the Avalanche bumper long before Ford did the manstep thing, so who would that make the copy cat?

the nice thing about LED daytime running lights is that they will (basically) never burn out.

Hopefully they don't turn off when you turn on the turn signal like on the new Chrysler 300 or the Audi's

Is it really that big a deal though? So they turn off one DRL for a couple seconds while your turn signal is on. Talk about "first world problems".

I hope they do turn off. A lot of newer cars turn signals don't show up at all because the headlights are too bright.

Does anyone know if the HD's will have 4 doors on the extended cabs? I guess they are similar to Rams Quad Cab.

The front end will have different sheet metal (on the HD's versus the LD's), but from the A-pillar back, it will be the same. You guys have to remember that with the upcoming much-stricter crash-test standards that the government will be imposing over the next couple years, it would probably be pretty hard to engineer a traditional-style "extended cab" (with the suicide doors) that would do well in side-impact crash tests without going over the weight limit for the truck. What I mean by that is, yes, im sure it would be possible to design a traditional extended cab with the same structural integrity as a crew cab, BUT the extra steel and bracing required to strengthen that HUGE opening and lack of B-pillar would probably add so much additional weight and complexity that it would exceed GM's design requirements. Fuel economy is becoming one of the biggest selling points between truck/SUV manufacturers. Thats why the big-three truck MFG's are doing all they can to make the trucks as lightweight as possible.
