Considering Buying Duramax LB7. Advice?

Hello everyone,

I'm considering buying a 2002 Chevy 2500HD 2WD LS with a LB7 Duramax with 264,000 miles on the clock.

According to the dealer it was a grandpa truck that spent it's life in Arizona up until 4 months ago. It has hauled a 5th wheel in the past.

I test drove it today and there's no haze coming out of the exhaust and the transmission shifts very well. The only problems I noticed is the passenger side window doesn't work and air doesn't come out of the vents on the dash. Otherwise it is very clean with only scratches in the bed.

It was serviced at 257,000 miles and "all recommended maintenance" was completed. Not sure if this means the injectors were done. I know these are the weak point, and I'm getting a diesel mechanic to inspect it and see if the stock injectors are still installed.

It has a 5" straight pipe installed but is otherwise stock.

The dealer wants $8,400. Fair retail is $9,500 on KBB.

Does this sound like a good deal? And, is there anything else other than the injectors that I should be looking out for on these?

Thanks for the help!
