US and Canadian consumers got the blower resistor recall, prevent trucks from burning to the ground. Manual HVAC only.

heymccall is correct guys... This recall is only for the blower motor resistor guys, its not a general HVAC recal.

Generally if you turn the key on and there is a clicking noise, that is your actuators sweeping. If you think its too loud, there is a TSB on it.

I think you have the same problem as "axelnut" but I'm not positive. I know I have a vibration that sounds like something small and plastic is rattling in my glove box but it's not that. Then again i have a new rattle almost every week

HVAC Problem

I got the letter too. My HVAC system has been acting up for some time. The manual slide switch on the passenger side, You could move it from full cold up about 3/8 of an inch and it would throw hot air. Also, when the blower was on 5, the passenger vents would only allow about half the air flow. I had it fixed along with an oil change, filter, fuel filter, the coolant lines to transmission were leaking. The horn had quit working. This is a 2006 LBZ engine with 52000 miles on it. The total bill was 1537.47 of which 1000 dollars of it was labor. They replaced a connector and a resistor and a actuator on the HVAC system. It seems to be working ok for now.

the recall is only on a certain number of vehicles. all of which DO NOT have auto type heat control or electronic blower control. If you have the sliding or dial type temp & blower control, it proably falls in the category of the recall. I work in a dealership parts room and see a few of these a week. My SVC MGR just runs the VIN and it shows if it does or doesn't fit the call.

part# for the new module is 13501703 or 15141083. it $43.xx at a dealership & $18.82 on gmpartsdirect.com. BUT if you need me to clarify the correct p/n, I'll need the last 8 of your VIN PM'd to me.
