Beware - Alligator performance

Here's a friendly warning to anyone buying parts from Alligator performance.

It started about 5-6 weeks ago when I purchased an Airdog II from Chad @ Alligator Performance. I received the product as ordered, and quickly enough, but when I went to get it installed a few days later, we found that the coupling for the return to the tank was defective, and leaking fuel. Turns out it was the O-ring(s), so we thought. This was discovered while it was still in the install bay. I called Alligator who weren't able to do anything, but they referred me to the manufacturer, who was closed for the day (Friday aft) at that time. We saw 2 O-rings in the coupling, but weren't sure whether that was by design or a mistake. Neither Alligator or Pureflow's support department could tell us either.

I then called Alligator again the following Monday, and asked them to ship me new O-rings...whereby they said they'd call me back. A few days came and went, but no return call. I then called back, not once, but twice more to finally reach someone who said they'd call Pureflow to get the parts, at which point I insisted they should include the coupling itself, as well as the O-rings, in case it turned out to be the coupling. The whole time, my truck was still pissing fuel out the coupling and this is going on a week plus by this time. They said they'd call me back to confirm that the parts would ship, which to no big surprise, they didn't.

I called them back the next day and they assured me that the parts were shipped by Pureflow and I got them a few days later, MINUS the O-rings.

I called Alligator a few days later to ask them about the missing O-rings, and they said they'd call me back, that was 2 weeks ago...and Chad, who I dealt with several times, NEVER called back, despite his insistence to me that day that he would call me that same day.

My truck is still leaking fuel almost 6 weeks later...and no call back from Alligator. They lied to me about promising to call me back more than 3-4 times...service was awful despite all their promises. They just pretend they will do something and simply don't.

Now, I will have to call Pureflow and have them deal with me directly on this matter, but this would be the last time I ever deal with Alligator Performance.

I have already written Alligator to let them know how I was treated and how I felt, but thought I should pass on my bad experience.

I've purchased product from a few vendors on this board, and have posted about the wonderful experience I've had with them. This isn't one of them, sad to say.

LOL - I'm quite clear on the definition of insanity...fact is we can't locate a suitable O-Ring to fit that part. BTW - I've been waiting yes, more than 6 weeks...since they never sent it to me. Yesterday, I used some tape to temporarily stop the bleeding. I will speak to Pureflow in the AM and get them to send me the damn rings, no thanks to Alligator.

You can't find a o-ring any where? What is it, square? They had made things right with one of my orders. No problems. Sorry to hear about your inconvenience.

No, it's just very thin and sits inside a grove, and Pureflow still can't tell me if there's supposed to be one or two inside the coupling (go figure)...we found 2 and one was destroyed...but seems to me there is only supposed to be 1.

If they actually had made things right for me, I'd have posted about the great service they gave me...I always do, but they didn't.

Sounds like Pureflow was at fault here, as it was their defective lift pump and their poor service on the replacement parts order. Chad is the storefront, and can only help you so much when its a manufacturer issue, which he did on the replacement parts order.

I see no electrical question here.
Sorry about your hard time but you are in the minority, Chad's group has a very good reputation that I can see, sorry they had a bad run while you were involved but things get missed sometimes. Confused as to why you didn't call the manufacturer in the first place, Alligator didn't package the pump.
As for driving a leaky truck, put the thing back stock till it's fixed. At least that'll save you the lost fuel/prevent the mess.

Doesn't explain the no call back from Chad.

I get the feeling if you were to even get a call back saying "tough shit" you would have been happier knowing you were on your own...6 weeks ago
