2002 lb7 cold start then dies, sets codes P0900A U1800B

I have a 2002 K3500 duramax that will start fine when its warm. when the temperature drops below 40 it will start then cut off after running for a couple seconds, after restart it will shut off again. it sets codes P0900A and U1800B. After clearing codes it will start and run fine. Also after running a while it will surge periodically at idle 30 to 50 rpms. Any ideas?

to me it sounds like your fpr maybe going bad surging at idle is a sign of a fpr going bad, fpr- fuel pressure regulator
