2002 with a P0380 code help!

So my truck just set off a P0380 code.

I know there is a bullitein where certain trucks are covered under warranty but I can not make any sense of it. The truck is an 02 with 127,000.

The code also leaves many variables open it seems. That it could be a controller, a circuit, or a glow plug it self. Is there a certain one that normally goes bad?

Also the truck had a coolant leak that I am going to fix tommorow. Is there a possibilty that some coolant could have gotten on a sensor and caused it throw the code?

Thanks in Advance

most of the time when a 0380 code is thrown, it is a glow plug malfuction. you guys had that much figured out. i've had it on my truck recently as well. as soon as things start slowing down, i'm taking it to the dealer. i believe it should be covered under the bullentin that was posted earlier as mine is a fleet/california emmissions vehicle.

here's a question for you. do you have a vacuum pump on your truck for the EGR system?

No I do not have a vacuum pump. I know for a fact the truck is not a California emissions truck nor a fleet emissions truck.

you're out of luck right now as far as being covered under the bullentin. you might just have to pony up the cash for the bad glow plug or controller, whatever is causing the code.

wish i could help more. if you want to wait a couple days, (read weeks), i'm taking mine to the dealership to get fixed. i can let you know what exact part they're going to replace on mine when it gets there if that helps at all.
