duramax won't start when warm

I bought a 2002 GMC 2500 with a duramax diesel. It has 139000 KM on it. It had a starting problem when warm when i bought it.I took it to a GM dealer and they checked it and said everything checked out fine.I put new battries and a new fuel filter on and it starts after it turns over several times. If I disconnect one battry it will turn over good but it won't start.I can connect both battries and it will start after it turns over several times. The motor runs fine after it starts, no smoke and lots of power. I don't see any signs of fuel in the crankcase.Could it be the injectors or something simpler

Make sure both batteries are good. Engine must spin to 140 RPM before it will fire. If those are the original batteries, I would be suprised if they are up to the task.

Hard warm starts, crank time in excess of 3-4 seconds, is a sign of injector problems. Does it start better when the engine is cold?
Did the new fuel filter improve it at all, even for a short while?

Fill out a sig and tell us where you are. Maybe someone near you can run balance rates with a programmer. What did the dealer check?

duramax won't start when warm

Thanks for a prompt reply.I live near Woodstock N.B. Canada. The truck wouldn't start with the original batteries. I put in two new batteries and at the same time I put in a new fuel filter.I got it started after turning the motor for a few seconds. I took it to the dealer and the mechanic tested the balance of the injectors and the rack pressures. He said if the injectors were bad he could tell with his analyzer that he hooked to the computer that would show if the computer was compensating for one or more injectors.they checked out ok, and there was no evidence of fuel in the oil. I have a friend with a duramax, same year and it starts alot quicker.I appreciate any help I get. birdseyelogger.

Before you start it push on the priming pump until it gets hard to push and see it that helps. You could be getting air in the fuel lines.

Also, see # 1 and 2 in my sig.
You can have good balance rates and bad injectors. If it's the injectors, eventually it will not start at all.
