blocker plate.

any vehicle that has one, conforms to state emissions for a particular state over federal emissions req. my 03 has an egr setup on it. it came from cali, which required that on it at time of purchase.

as far as blockin it, the plate will work but you'll need a program (efi, ppe, etc) to disable the egr and keep it from flippin the codes back on. there is a fingerstick, which is a hardwire solution to trippin codes, but it only works on the lly and up.

see this thread for reference, some people are wokin on a fingerstick for the lb7 right now....

My friends 03 has an egr as well. The blocker plate works just as whitetrash21 stated. On my 02 I removed the vacuum pump and bought a shorter serpantine belt. Seem ed to work pretty good. Either way you will need to do some reprogramming as stated in the above response.

2001 LB7 No EGR on any

2002 -2004 EGR and Cat in all clean state emissions. In 2002 there were a few states but by 2004 13 states used them.

Not to thread-jack, but is it safe to say if my truck ('02) didn't have a cat, it doesn't have an egr? I've searched a little, but still not sure.

And what is funny is this is the same pump as on a 1996 F-350 7.3L Ford!

Except they put theirs on the top drivers side of the engine.

Man I hate my P0404 light!

79transam,

How much did you reduce the length of the serpentine belt? I was thinking of doing the same thing for my 2004 LB7.
