squeaky fan belt.. no idea!
I got a squeaky fan belt at least i think.?. but i also think it maybe one of the pulleys going out also... but since it only squeaks part of the time (like when its humid or wet/snowy weather outside) that it might be some condensation on the belt. but as of lately its squeaking more and more... don't know if its due to the cold weather also, or if its time for a new belt and/or pulley. If you look at my signature you will see that i have a body lift... and since i have the body lift i have the bottom fan shroud off. Didn't know if that would be a factor in all of this. Any informative information would be great!

x2 get a new belt. gatorbelts are the better ones. there simple to change too
have you tried a bar of soap? start the motor and open the hood. touch the bar of soap to the belt on the sides and the bottom if possible. if the squeek ends then you know its the belt. if it doesnt then its probably the pulley. just please be careful where you stick your hand.

Mine just started doing the same thing, although it only squeeks when cold in the morning (or night). Tried some belt dressing and it started squealing real bad. Then WD40 quieted it down right away, but it comes back after a coupel days. Belt is only about a year old.
This wknd I'll pop the belt off and check the pulleys, and maybe get a gatorback belt.

Mine makes more of a rattle. I also noticed that the belt tensioner is doing alot of flopping around and Im almost positive thats where the rattle is coming from, I just replaced the belt a few months ago so this weekend I'll be putting on a new belt tensioner.

x3 on the gatorback belt. take the belt off before you got spend 40 bucks on a belt and spin all of the pulley's to see if that's the squeak. if not, you'll be very happy with the belt, just make sure you have the right one, as far as vacuum pump, alternator size, etc.

What's the best way to insure you're getting the correct Gatorback belt? Is there a code somewhere or do you have to know all the fine details??

If you have another mode of transportation, take the belt off and take it with you. I always try to do this with every part I replace. This way I know I am getting a direct replacement.

I have had the squeaky belt issue on my truck for a while. It's been in 3 times, each time fixing the problem only to have it return later, and it's about to go in for the 4th time.
Same symptoms every time - belt squeaks when the engine is cold and the squeak goes away after it's warm. First time: Dealer says dirty pulleys. Squeak returns shortly. Second time: Dealer says "Missalligned pulley" Squeak returns shortly after. Third time: Dealer replaces belt and tensioner. Squeak dissappears but returns shortly when engine is cold. Performance doesn't seem to be affected, but it's awful annoying in the morning. I'm about to go in for the 4th time..........
