Utopia injector fix LB7??

Is there or will there ever be a long lasting fix for our LB7 injector issues? I love my truck but I don't want to have to invest a couple of grand every 30 to 40 thousand miles after the warrenty runs out.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket fix or replacement that will acually eliminate this issue?

I've been reading for a few months now so I may have already missed this one, please excuse my ignorance. Is installing a prefilter the only defense ? Why is it that the later model engines don't seem to share this problem, is it a completely different injector and/or filtering system?

Sorry about the rambling, thanks for the input.

I'm in the same boat, although my injectors are fine now, I have no warranty. I've read all the threads I can find w/ the search function, googled, and think about a simple way to do it and to have them last. I've been contemplating LLY heads and have gotten some feedback from the group. My latest thought and this can be a question for those in the group that know: Would it be possible to remachine the LB7 heads to accept the LLY injectors and could the LB7 fuel rails ect. be made to work? I know that the electronics would need some TLC, but some of you have already figured them out. If anything like this is possible, some one could come up with an exchange kit and an electronics program for us to buy. I'm sure it would be much cheaper and better than anything GM or the dealers will come up with.

Thanks

Me, for one does not have much confidence in the big boys; I have never believed in going back to the people that screwed things up the first time, the second time, ect. GM has had three or four years to do something besides punt, In my opinion, it's too little too late. I hope that what they're testing works, but warranties will be running out before the one year test is even completed. I've been around equipment all my life and have always found that those that use and work on equipment aways have the best and simplest fix. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the duramx to know what will work and won't; but there are people in this group that are.

Thanks

Tothemax- Yes I've been watching that thread pretty close but I must admit that the previous poster does have a point, will an update be avalible before warranties run out or will they just wait it out and say to hell with it? I'm not belly aching about cost alone as much as the real solution to the problem. Things break and wear out, no big deal but my truck had injectors at 38,000, this is a little scary, do I have one of those 'every 30,000 mile jobs' or what? I love this motor and this truck I just wonder what the real fix is.

I am hoping that the updated injectors will be available for purchase. They will be worth the price IMHO if they fix the problem. I have done more injectors in less miles than most, and I too will run out of years before I run out of miles. I feel fortunate (I use that term loosly after the engine incident) that I get to try a possible cure for our trucks. Other than a few squawks, it is the best truck I have owned out of 30+.

There have been trucks that have had aftermarket filters on them from day one and still had failed injectors.
