connecting the LBZ turbo mouthpiece
Ok so when I connect the mouthpiece and tighten it down I can still see through a spot in the v clamp that the mouthpiece has a small gap between the turbo and mouthpiece and no matter how tight i make the clamp the mouthpiece will still move like twist in the clamp is this normal??? Thanks for the help I just want to make sure I am not losing air there.

If I remember correctly, the tabs are to clock the position of the inlet to the turbo. If it doesn't clock correctly for your application you may have to file them off so there is no space between the mouth piece and the turbo housing before you put the clamp on.

I will look into the turbo to see how deep those slots are and if they are not deep enough I will file them down but i think they are deep enough.

Are you following one of the detailed procedures that used to be on this site? It's been a few years so I don't know if they're still around. They included how to modify (where to cut) the duct from the air cleaner box to the duct.
Anyway, if there's a gap, then it's not seated. I don't remember having to cut/file the tabs; don't think I did. But I did some grinding on the seam so it clears the EGR cooler pipe. Even so, I probably have less than 1/8" clearance between the duct and the cooler pipe. Some people would bend the cooler pipe a little; I don't think I did that (or not much at all) that because it's fragile and will break loose where it connects. I think there was a hose clamp that I had to rotate a little so the ear didn't get in the way of the MP. While some people just slapped it on, I remember struggling to make sure it was seated and then fought with that clamp for a while to get everything positioned right. Even so, the MP sticks up a little higher than stock. The resonator still fits ok but isn't quite level.

I know when I put my LBZ MP on, I could not get it to sit right and tighten down enough until I ground off the tabs. Part of it may have been necessary to mate to my intake but I know I took those tabs off and my clamp sits tight because my MP and intake don't move.

It has been a pain in the ass for me to get the mouthpiece seated. I have already cut the duct and I drove it for a week but swear I was losing some power somewhere and was thinking since I had so much trouble getting the mouthpiece on that It PROBABLY WAS NOT SEATED RIGHT. So now I have it apart and i am going to do the pcv reroute now and then hook it all back up hopefully getting the mouthpiece to seat correctly
