LLY Engine knock after diesel kleen
With my PPE programmer installed on level 1 or 2 my truck was running great aside from the exhaust smelled super rich and always smokes blue at idle, warm or cold. I put 1 tank worth of diesel keen in and every since i have engine knock, only with program installed at any acceleration. I have read all sorts of this forum and I don't feel my issue is the same. Every opinion on here says diesel keen is great and my experience is opposite. Any advice would be great.

How's that fuel filter. How are your balance rates?
That's definately a diesel kleen issue.

mmm... Man smoke with a PPE economy on Level 1/2 sounds like injectors to me as well... I would get a computer on the truck and see how they read. From what I have read you should return your truck to "Stock" tune setting and if you see more than a + or - 4.5 variation in either of your 8 injectors you most likely have an issue. Hope this helps.

Got the truck back from the shop today. They said injectors are good. Injector 3 is 3.5 which was the worst of the 8 injectors. Gonna try changing my fuel filter again maybe.

did they check the return rates or just the balance rates. i know return rate issues are more a problem on lb7 engines, but return rates will tell you a better story than balance rates will

Im not sure if they checked the return rates, I will have to ask. I know the mechanic that was looking into it is known around these parts as the "diesel whisperer" haha so I'm sure he would have checked and told me if something was off.
