2005 LLY with 4 codes. Helpl please!
Hey guys, I have a friend with an '05 LLY that's stock other than a 6" lift and an Edge Juice with Attitude chip on it. He has had it since new. It threw on a check engine light and wouldn't go over 2000 rpm yesterday. I took it to Autozone for him and had them read the codes with their scanner. I would appreciate the help if anyone could tell me what the codes are and how to go about fixing this issue. I'm kind of lost on the matter as I have never had to deal with my truck going into limp mode. So far all I did was unplug the Edge for him to see if that helps, which didn't seem to make a difference. I think one of the codes is a wheel sensor, the other may be EGR and/or low fuel pressure? The codes are: p1093, p0404, p0401, and c0035. Thanks in advance for your input!

The 1093 is probably what put it into limp mode. That is a low fuel rail pressure code. First thing is to be sure you don't have a plugged fuel filter. If your good there then usually on these it is a weak FPRV. You can clear the codes and run a bottle test to verify or just put in a FPRV shim kit they are only like $10. Can be a PITA to get the FPRV loose though, generally they are extremely tight.

P0401 and P0404 are EGR codes...if he doesn't have a blocker in it his EGR valve is toast. He must have an FE9 truck though because it obviously didn't set a CEL for it.

All four codes didn't likely set at the same time.
P0401 & P0404 may set at the same time and be related to each other. On a California/Eastern seaboard trucks it may limp, but I doubt it and would likely set the CEL. On FE9 trucks, no limp and no CEL. Either way fix the EGR or remove the blocker plate for the correct fix. Most times just ignore it. P1093, will limp it. On FE9 build code (inside glove box lid) trucks, no CEL, coastal trucks likely a CEL. Both limit RPM to 2000 for self preservation. ON FE9 truck that code should reset after one key cycle, if the problem clears. Diagnostic charts suggest replacing the fuel filter and clear the codes with a code reader. If problem persists check fuel rail pressure at idle and at full load. Should idle about 4700 PSI, and get to about 23,000 PSI under full load. If not, fix the pressure problems.... another diagnostic chart. C0035, Left front wheel speed sensor. Should set the ABS light. Check the wiring for that sensor. Check the left front hub bearing for excess play. Check the sender.

Thanks for the input guys! I will check the wires for the front wheel sensor and go from there. As far as the EGR codes go, would it work if I installed a blocker plate and fingerstick?

A blocker plate and finger stick would solve your codes problem or some tuners can tune them out as well. Older Predators and some PPEs can also.

Being in AZ, I think your first concern would be to address the P1093 code so you can drive it at full tilt.
Then think about the EGR codes. Fix it to pass the state tests or do as suggested above. The brakes will work with out the ABS. Just nice to have it work according to the book.

Exactly what I was thinking turnpike. I just want to have all the answers when I go and tell him what I found out. So basically, if we put in a shim kit, blocker plate and fingerstick, and fix the wheel sensor, we should be good to go.
