Annoyed!!! Starting problem!!!
Ok my 04.5 LLY runs amazing and gives me only one lil problem!!! Ok it's been pretty cold lately so I usually plug it in and it starts and runs fine... However if I don't plug it in it will start on the first crank and run fine for less than a minute and die... So I have to get out and pump the plunger on the fuel filter til it gets hard... Sometimes it starts after the first pumping process sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries... Can anyone tell me how to fix this or wat to check???

have you replaced your fuel filter lately?
Someone else chime in here, but when does the little heater in the top of the filter housing kick on?

nope that should be it. If the heater on the filter head doesn't kick on when the truck is plugged in, i'm not sure why else the filter would be plugging.
Does your DIC show you fuel filter % life? if it does I'd bet it drops to zero % when the truck dies.

My truck was doing that. Ended up ordering a O-ring kit and rebuilt the filter head.
My theory was that when it gets really cold outside, those O-rings shrink just enough to cause a problem. |

Sounds like you might have an air leak. Recheck the fuel filter and make sure the gaskets are good and everything is tight.

If its cold, the o-rings in the filter head probably shrunk and have developed an air leak. Time for a filter head rebuild.

Reseal the fliter head. The seal kit is NOT available from GM, as they only service a new housing-$$$.
The Forum supporting vendors listed here can provide you a seal kit for less than $25, and only takes 15 minutes to install the parts.
