Black smoke on acceleration means not enough intake air charge. First thing I'd check is to see if any of the blue CAC boots blew off.

Did that seem to be all secure. Also did ice pick on connectors to objectors. And cleaned mass air sensor. Truck starts fine has power but knock and black smoke continue. Any other ideas guys?

Are you able to check balance rates?
I would suspect a stuck injector.

I agree may be a stuck injector. Had a similar problem on an LBZ several years ago. Got stuck needing fuel in a small town on the interstate. Within two miles of fueling up, similar problem - nasty knock on one cylinder and black smoke. Same deal - no lights, no codes.
Drove about 50 miles, bought some fuel cans, drained tank as best I could, refueled - no change. Drove another 150 miles home at very light throttle. On the way to work the next morning the knock and smoke cleared up as quick as it came. Was running the stock fuel filter but I'm still convinced it was trash in the fuel that made it through the filter. Changed the filter and cut it open - a fair amount of what appeared to be algae in the element. I hope yours clears up like mine did but I am betting I got really lucky.

most likely injector related...my two cents:
1) change filter
2) when replacing with fuel filter fill with sea foam
3) do the GM injector cleaner procedure
4) fill tank with b99 biodiesel and more sea foam
5) drive the shart out of it for a tank or two

if it doesn't clear itself up, you'll want to check the injector rates and may have to replace some. if it's easy for you to check injector rates might as well check now but i'd still do 1-5 before i replaced anything.

i try to avoid the bad fuel issue but only filling up and commercial fueling stations...the big trucks eat through the supply so fast the fuel in the holding tanks is always "fresh"
