p1550, glow plug relay, ether to start

Ok I bout got this thing whopped i think,

I did have it starting right off the key initially, glow plug light would come on for a long time engine would fire right up (then i had oil pressure sensor problems that would shut it off)

In the mix of fixiing that i have caused another issue. It will not start on its own, ya give it a shot of ether it fires up and run just as smooth as silk. makes anywhere from7500-10k psi cranking. The glow plug light just comes on for a flash (less then a second) then goes back off and i intermittantly get a p1550 code with my scan tool.

The truck ran in my 50 degree shop for 5mins so the block should of been warm enough i would think for it to of started without the need of the glow plugs, it would just crank over and almost act like it wasnt giving it any fuel you hit it with a shot of boom boom juice and she would fire right up like you flipped a swithc.

Any Ideas

Thanks Travis

P1550 Fuel Injector Control Module System Voltage
Probably knocked something loose fixing the other problem.

would weak batteries cause that issue?

I am very Familure with a powerstrokes system and if say you have less then 11 volts while cranking on a 7.3 they will not boot up the computer persay, Same concept and if so what is the min voltage to get the system to boot up?

The 6.0 powerstrokes are notorius for having soldering connection problems they output 48volts to the injectors a capacitor will come loose and drop to 36 volts and cause lots of issues

Thanks Travis

I don't for sure, but it would not suprise me. Anything is possible when you're working with electricity.

DO NOT USE ETHER-! BOOM! $$$$$$

Have you tried pumping the primer on the filter housing-? The seals in the filter housing dry out and allows air in the system. It sucks air instead of fuel. Common problem with the fuel system.

A housing seal kit is available from many of the supporting vendors. GM does not service the parts.

Get a second cap for the fuel tank and pressurize the tank. Not a lot, all you need is about five PSI and see if you have any leaks. More than likely you'll have an air leak somewhere leting the vacuum out of the lines accounting for your hard starting.
