Fuel Pressure Regulator DIY instructions

Hi All,
I have a surge at idle every 4 to 5 seconds and from what I've been reading, it sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is going out. I've read it's not too hard to change, just labor intensive. I've found quite a few amazingly detailed and helpful DIY instructions on how to change/repair other parts on these engines, but I wasn't able to find instructions on how to change the FPR. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks!!

I would also like to know this. But i have a feeling that it will be one of those projects you have to feel your way through.

I can provide you the GM service manual procedure on this if you want. Sometimes is helpful, sometimes not so much. It will take me a day or two to get it as I am away from the computer that I have it on.

A 1/4-drive T25 socket with a short extension works just fine. I changed mine twice with that.

543Dave,
Here is the GM procedure on the LLY. You may be able to skip some steps, use your discretion as you disassemble. I have found that GM instructions often have you take off more than is necessary. I hope this helps
