DTC's P0207 & P2146
This morning I went out to start it and it ran rough.. kinda like only half the engine was firing... check engine light came on.. but no DTC's were reporting. I had the truck on stage 2 with the Hypertec power programmer III. I shut it down and returned the truck to stock, started it up and it ran normal. Shut it down again and reprogrammed to stage 2. Started and ran normal.
Took it to work, started it after work.. ran nice. Half way home at highway speed the engine light came on and it was running rough again... no power could not maintain 100K (60mph). Exhaust was clean.. no black smoke. Pulled over and attached the Hypertec and got the 2 codes P0207 & P2146. I left the programming at stage 2 but just quickly cleared the DTC's.. restarted it and drove it home.. ran nice. My DTC list I downloaded says: P0201-P0208 - Injector Control Circuit. P2146 - Injector Positive Voltage Control Circuit Group1. I assume P0207 means Injector Control Circuit7? Would this be an electrical issue or does this seem that something actually needs replacing? Haven't phoned the dealer yet.. as I find it best to post here 1st and go in with some knowledge Cheers

Use the "FIX" on #7 injector connector, you might as well do #2 while you're at it.

Everything I have read about the dealers fix for the #2 and #7 injector fix basicly is just a longer wired plug that can wear over time and have the same issue again. The ice pick fix basicly puts a new crimp in the harness plug that lets it make better contact so the engine vibrations will not affect continuity in the circuit.I would also check the wiring harness attached to the alternator bracket for wear.Just undo the zip-tie and look at the backside of the wiring for wear.If it is worn just fix the worn wires and put a piece of heater hose split lengthwise around it then put the zip-tie back on it and the bracket will wear on the hose instead of the wires.

The supposed fix from the dealer only prolongs the inevitable. There are more than a few people on here who have had the dealer fix fail within 10K miles.
