first dmax half-ton build i am attempting, luckily have buddies that have done swaps into reg cab short box halfton 2wd , tahoe halfton 4x4 with 9 inch lift. just critical to get engine mounts 100%

Hmm... this sounds familiar. I have a feeling I have asked you this before the more I think about it.
You backing it up with the transmission that comes in the Escalade or shoehorning in an Allison?

You really dont have to do any "shoehorning" to fit an allison in. Its the taller radiator/intercooler stack that needs the "shoehorn". Not the allison.
