Good news, just like GM would've made it, if they had pulled their head out of the sand 10 years ago.

Now here is where I attempt to drag Ben into the equation, It has Traction Control (not Stabilatrack) can I get the EBCM to give with the Dmax, off to my buddy at our local GM dealership to see what tthe EBCM is seeing.

Yes, its possible. Im working on making a microcontroller-based "translator box" that will allow a Dmax ECM to interface with the PWM-torque signal wires on the traction control/stabilitrak EBCM's, keeping the EBCM happy. It will think its still talking to a gasser PCM.
The translator box will be able to ask the Dmax ECM for a defuel when the EBCM requests it too...just like factory. Honestly, its probably not going to get done for a few weeks. Ill be busy with the Diesel Power Challenge, and also im busy with work stuff. But I am in no way giving up on this project. It is very high on my priority list of "things to work on:.

Hmmm whats interesting about this unit is that it has 5 ports just like the base model ABS unit, there are no rear wheel sensors and the as any 5 port system it has a single line to the rear, this must be the most basic of traction control.

Quote:
Traction control meaning it would just stop the rear wheels from spinning by reducing engine torque. It did not have a yaw sensor, or any other lateral/yaw control functions. It was basically just to keep you from doing a big burnout if you mashed the pedal from a stop, nothing more. Very basic.

Also wouldn't the ECM need to be set up to accept the request, or would it be like a trans defuel request. I know some LBZ's I've seen are set to something like 86 before they will accept a speed limiter request, and others are set to 0. Or is teh speed limiter a differrent function than what the traction control system would be sending out?
