2012 with off road fuel?
lets start by saying I know the legal issues of what I am asking.
That being said. Can you run off road fuel in the lml engine? I know its the same fuel as the road fuel just with a red dye pack. I also know that some of the newer fords plug up on the just a taste of the stuff? anyone have any miles on with off road? Thanks

Since on and off road fuel here in Pennsylvania are only different in color, I'd like to see examples of how Fords cannot run on off road fuel.
I have several earthmoving type machines with the DPF systems that ONLY run on off road fuel. For that matter, you can run NON-LSD fuel in your truck, too. Search "Mexico" on here. Here in PA, all fuel is ULSD, whether its dyed or not.

Is there such a thing as NON USLD in Canada or US? In Canada our farm fuel is red/purple and thats the only thing I run.

YES it will run it I ran it til we got checked by Irs agent on random pop in visit ...$1000 dollars later I went back to running undyed and BTW is didn't help my mileage

I was under the impression that all diesel fuel in the US was ULSD even the dyed fuel. That being said, why wouldn't the dyed fuel run just the same? It's the same fuel, just doesn't have the 'road taxes' built into the price. To the OP, unless you are running your vehicle completely off public roadways, thanks for helping pay for the roads here in WI.

From what i have read all US diesel is now ULSD. As long as its is ULSD the dye wont matter. Just don't run LSD.
I have run off road a number of times in the past and honestly believe it runs better than the on road. I have no proof, this is just my observation and my opinion. I prefer the off road stuff....

ULSD was phased in over several years, with fuel for different uses switching at different times (on road, off-road, rail, marine etc) Off road (construction and ag) are now at Tier4 and are using dpf's and scr (with def) , just like the LML and the heavy duty on-road truck segment. It's no longer legal in Canada or US to manufacture or sell LSD. Not sure where you are located, but I was recently pulled over (in sw Ont) by a revenue vehicle and had my tank dipped. Be careful out there.
