You don't want to get caught with that in your tank while on public roadways. You will have a very, very bad day.

I sure hope not USLD would stand for Ultra Sulfur Low Diesel. Haha just razing you couldn't resist.

i have a friend at the ford garage and he has had multiple powerstokes come in with the injectors and pumps all gummed up with it running like a off balance tire. They all had off road fuel... Maybe a coincidence of the farm tank being dirty? I just dont want to take a chance with my 50k+ truck...

Due to Hurricane Sandy aftermath in NY/NJ there wasn't any on road available. I have been running Off Road in my truck for the last month due to lack of ability to find on road in the beginning. It has been about 1000 miles and I don't really think I have had a difference in anything. I am still going thru the rest of what I had so I won't see on road for a bit. And it is legal for me from what I was told by my client via a FEMA emergency waiver I received.

The rules in Canada are different I can run that fuel all day, as long as Im using it for farming purposes.

Don't get caught in Ontario. Farm pickups and heavy trucks (even with farm plates) are not exempt here, and they are actively out checking tanks.

Other posters are correct, there is NO LSD in the USA or Canada any more. However, if you somehow managed to find a supply (as in Mexico, for example) it would soon become obvious. On the LMMs the regens are very smoky, and on the LMLs it doesn't take long before you start getting messages about bad quality DEF. (The DEF is not the problem, of course, but the sulfur in the fuel interferes with the operation of the SCR, so NOX levels exceed spec). Search Mexico to get more info.
