GMTDScan Basic - The free PC code reader for 1994-1995 GM 6.5TD trucks

Hello!
I have developed a code reader for the 94-95 6.5TD. You can download it for free on my site http://www.engh.com/

With GMTDScan Basic you can read and clear DTCs... both historic and current. Just for the fun of it I have also included a little dashboard with coolant, rpm, speed and turbo boost guages. Check out my site for screenshots and download

You will need a 8192 baud ALDL interface cable and a PC with a COM port to connect to your truck. Any 8192 baud interface will work. If you currently don't own a cable you can purchase one on my site.

Now that the basic version is completed and the website is published I have started working on GMTDScan Professional. It is going to be the full featured version of GMTDScan. Stuff that I will include in that version is the ability to view live data from all available ECM sensors, unlimited recording of data logs, playback of previously recorded data logs and so on.

Now go to my website, http://www.engh.com/, and have a look at GMTDScan Basic

/Stefan

Swede,

Sounds nice! Can you provide a wiring diagram of the harness you list? I'd like to make my own cable.

I'd be more than willing to purchase the full blown version once you get it rolling, and would even like to provide constructive criticism regarding the man-machine interface...

Love it! I can't wait for the pro version. Are you going to shoot for ability to set TDCO? Also, looking at your site, does the interface cable come with an ALDL plug or do you just plug the bare pins in?

Will order a cable in a week or so when my Gov. refund money comes in. Would build one, but I can't read electrical blue prints, lol. I am with nv, would like the TDCO ability incase I want to replace my IP myself. Can fuel metering be read and set on an OBD I???

Yes, I'll try my best to get TDC Learn to work. My plan is to portscan the Tech1 I have to see what commands it sends to the ECM when performing the procedure. I haven't got a clue if that is possible or not but I'm gonna give it a try. The ability to set TDCO would be a real "showstopper"

My ALDL cable just has bare pins. I don't know the english word for them but at the open end of the four cables there are small metal tubes crimped on tight so that the cables are easy to insert into the ALDL port. Just two cables need to be inserted to "speak" to the truck.

That cable works fine with GMTDScan... the only difference between that one and the one I've got on my site is that it is not powered from the computer's COM-port.
