need help white smoke
my 95 starting blowing thick white smoke out the exhaust today about 15 minutes from home today made it home ok but it now runs ruff like its down a cylinder, coolent was also low and oil was 2qts over full which i never over fill my oil and it leaks out the rear main, but oil was black and smelled like diesel fuel. is this the sign of a blown head gasket and or a cracked head and if so what should i expect durning tear down? and at 300K would it be worth it to fool around with this engine? Sounds like a headgasket to me. Big leaks are usually gaskets, slow leaks are block or heads.
Take the serp belt off then take the coolant crossover off and see if a head bubbles, then you will know which side to pull.
