Where to buy 4 pre cups
Well, i'll be replacing a head on this engine build. One turned up cracked before even sending it to be pressure tested (very visible crack in between the seats, leading into intake seat itself).
Assuming the other head is good, and knowing the replacement head will have diamond pre cups in it, my current precups have circle's. I would much prefer to have matching pre cups.. where can i buy 4 diamond's? I was told 'GMpartsguy' on here, however his last login was july of last year according to his profile.

i got my heads from a company in florida called clear water heads? or clear water something, they where new heads, SOOO i wonder if a company like them would sell the pre cups or what?, so id go around and try to find companies selling new heads and see if they can get some precups

It's clearwater cylinder head.. or CCH. I'm about 40 minutes from them. They dont supply them, they buy there bare's with precups pre installed.

Well, for further reference .. i found a company that sell's diamond precup's for ~$8 a piece plus ship on ebay. There user name is 'factory_diesel'. Message them, and they will get you what you need. The admin says they will have an ad listed sometime next week for them.
As far as my situation goes, they are useless because the pressure test result's came back, and it looks like im in the market for a pair of heads and not just one ;( Good day everyone.

Any news on those precups? At 8 bucks I'm wondering if they're some Chinese knock off stuff. I dont want to put them in my engine till someone knows what they're like because i push some ponnies and cant have my motor down due to bad precups.

Search for that ebay username i posted above and ask them. I dont plan to buy them, i wound up buying a pair of heads from another company. Dont really see them failing if they are china, maybe the design will differ .. not too sure.

i read in another post that the cheaper precups are magnetic and good ones are not.

94 gmc 1500 with 93 6.5 td auto trans, 4x4, z71,33x12.5 tires, excab 6' bed, 100,000 on motor 266 on truck. No egr F series intake. Has 4" straight pipe exhaust,2.5" crossover pipe, bosch duraterm glowplugs, pmd relocation with #9 res, custom cold air box, oil pres,trans temp, boost, egt glowshift gauges, b&m trans switch, ho water pump with d-maxx fan and duel t-stats.
