6.5 exhaust system
I just bought a 2000 chevy 3500 6.5 turbo diesel dooley, from what I've heard changing the exhaust is a good idea, a 4" is much better for this truck. Who makes a good exhaust system for this truck, any recommendations

Diamond eye is the best and cheapest in my opinion. They can be had with or without a muffler.
I got mine with the muffler from a site vendor performancetruckproducts.com I paid $260 and shipping was free. Well worth it and sounds great

That's what I like about adp. they will find the best price possible for what ever they sell. I used to go in there just to see if they knew about anything new in the 6.5 world. learned a few things and had a great time. if you have any questions they will answer without any pressure to bring the vehicle in question down and sell you something.

My vote is for the Diamond Eye system for cost and effectiveness. It is also recommended to replace the crossover pipe. From what I understand it's double walled and the inner wall collapses? Info on that here. On the crossover, 2.25" is better than 2.5" at keeping exhaust velocity up and spool times lower.
I'm going to put heat wrap around my down pipe and crossover in the near future to keep heat out of the engine bay. Also, the heat wrap on the crossover will be pre-turbo, so that section of wrap will help with turbo efficiency.

Just fyi, I built my own system with a SSD downpipe, 4in pipe from NAPA and some elbows and accessories from Jegs, total price was right about $200. Just an idea if your trying to save some green! Sounds great too, can really hear the turbo now!
