....This is not another thread asking if it can be done, yes it can, I DID IT, and i have to say its about the coolest thing ive ever seen.
So...how did i do it? well...im not gonna tell ya, you have to pay to join my site. HAHAHA im kidding, im not gonna be like that.
Turbos: i got two Airesearch T3's off of mid 80's Peugot 4cyl diesels at our local pull n' save yard for $17.00 each, not bad if you ask me. They are wastegated at ~8psi which is perfect for a 6.2
Everything else i fabbed myself, it wasnt really that hard, i made the manifolds out of 2x4 1/4" wall square tubing. i drilled through for the bolt holes, and had to create access hole so that you can get to the glow plugs. For the oil feed lines, i uncorked the plug on the block by the oil cooler lines, and split and went to both turbos. for the oil returns (and since the turbos sit above the valve covers) i decided to route the returns into fittings i welded into the corners of the valve covers.
One major problem i had was getting the exhaust manifolds to seal against the head, i fought several sets of homemade gaskets, and finally realized that by each glowplug there is a casting that protrudes out of the head and is not level with the exhaust ports. so after some grinding with a angle grinder, the manifolds seal very nice now. as for gasket material i used the graphite material from mr. gasket, seems to work and hasnt blown out yet.
The intake is just a piece of sheetmetal that i hand rolled into a circle to fit the intake, i have been having trouble getting it to seal up completely but it doesnt do too bad for just being eyeballed.
I have plans down the road to twin intercool it with a set of stillen intercoolers that i got for free, i just need to get some pipe and fab them in.
For fuel concerns i came across a 92 6.5 sitting at a local junkyard, so i grabbed the 4970 db2 pump as well as the 6.5 injectors, i turned the pump up 1/4 turn before i put it on, it really hauls now.
So in the end, was it worth it? YES, the absence of turbo lag is absolutely wonderful, this thing is wicked in the mountains, you come around a hairpin corner, steep grade, step on it and just go! i just checked 0-45mph time today and got 11.26 seconds, not bad for a 8700# 4x4 dually beast!
