you already have a 9 blade fan, i can't see the plastic version from a d-max doing much for you if anything at all.
your factory gauge read no higher than 205 and if your truck is anything like mine the gauge is not accurate, mine was off by 20* and was actually running 180 when reading 200, i have the stock 9 blade with a stock ho pump and 4 seasons severe duty fan clutch and stays pretty cool, if you have access to a scan tool i would see what the ecm sender is seeing for temps first, maybe you are running cooler than you think.

Thats what i was thinking but then i thought maybe the d-max fan was lighter and put less strain on the engine??? Didn't Know the weight difference??

I have the 9 blade fan and the spin on fan clutch as far as I can tell

The dmax fan blade has a greater pitch, I believe. I could tell the difference after I hooked it up. The dmax fan blade moves alot more air.

From what I have read here, the 180F t-stat is usually not as good as people think.
Remember that diesel engine needs heat. Eliminating all the heat may not give you any performance enhancement. IMO, you have a 99, just keep it as is and do other things like having a spare PMD is more important.
