lift pump mod ?

i have read that the walbro frc-10 is best pump for our 6.5's but they are really hard to get , specially for us canadians. now im a daily auto mechanic and came across a thought. the FRC-10 pump can push 50 gal/hr @ 12.5-16.5 psi. but again a dodge cummins pump can do 40 gallons per hour @ 13-15 psi. now would they be interchangable ? i know that the cummins pump should be a hella improvement over the stock 6.5td pump. let me know guys opinions and thoughts thanks.

That would work :p does it directly bolt on to our fuel lines and also did u notice a difference? And how good are carter pumps compared to a walbro frc10 . Can i remove my sock in tank and add a filter ? Where can i get an inline filter to go with that pump. Thanks

Are the fittings that size? The Carter pump it is 3/8" NPT, 14-16psi. I think my OEM style pump is going T/U, so I maybe in the market for a replacement (pending testing).

My limited reading of LP's say that a higher pressure lift pump is actually BETTER for the 6.5's. So if that is true...why bother replacing it w/ another stock pump....

Just going from memory here, that Carter pump looks very much like the one I put on my truck in place of the stock pump. Without going out in the rain and mud and crawling under I can't be certain it is the same model number, but it does mount the same as the one I got.

I am satisfied with what I got, no problems of any kind. At an idle I can hear it if I'm listening specifically for it, otherwise I never hear it until I shut the motor down. Then I hear it continue to run until the oil pressure drops down and the OPS shuts off.

A pump is a pump is a pump.... if you can make the cummins pump fit and it's already in reach, I say use it and tell us the results. The pressure and flow are higher than stock then it should help.

As long as you can make it fit it should work, you have one inlet, one outlet, one hot wire and one ground wire. You're good to go.
Just to be safe though, as with any after market lift pump, you might want to do the ops mod so you don't have to start changing oil pressure sensors all the time afterwards.
