6.5 swap for 7.4 2500 burb
what all kinds of issues would i run into swapping a 6.5 into a 96 suburban? does it use the same fuel lines? lift pump? tach hook up and gauge (i know the gauges are different but can you still use gas tach gauge?) any electronic issues? or is it all self contained on the injection pump? any info would be very helpfull, i am looking for a NICE! 2500 suburban with a 6.5 and haveing issues finding one that is nice for a decent price but i have come across this
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/3366944031.html and looks really nice and i would think a supercharged big block would more than pay for a 6.5 turbo ( although no where near the power but might could afford to feed it, lol)

Too much hassle keep searching. When I was looking for my two door tahoe/yukon with the diesel yeah I had to really scour most of the west side of the country. Got a great deal and it looks nice, But honestly you will have more in the swap that what you will have in a 2500 diesel rig and it will get way better mileage towing than the gasser will.

all the wiring(engine and gauges + cluster), hoses, radiator, torque converter and ignition switch and if the burb does not have hydroboost all need to be swapped, the fuel sender and lines as well

Since what you want is out there, just keep looking. You'll eventually find a 6.5 burb in nice shape. Try using Search Tempest. It allows you to search Craiglist in multiple locations rather simply.
It is not like you want a suburban with a Duramax which they don't make from the factory (unfortunately). Buying a perfectly fine burb with a 7.4 and intending to swap a 6.5 would be pretty cost prohibitive when what you want is out there. Just keep looking.

here's one a bit more affordable...
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/ctd/3386488825.html although this one looks like a scam... listed as a k1500, and obvious 8 lug wheels. also, it's a 4x4 in the pic, but no mention of it being 4x4, also, the short message stating to text anytime... but no phone number listed...
