I stand corrected.

It can be done with 1 battery if the battery spec is above what is needed to start. In other words, the CA of the battery is more than 1300-1500 A.

The link above, the battery is 2500 CA which even after efficiency factor is still well above 1500 CA.

Who's gonna warranty it if there's a problem? What are you gonna do while it's being shipped back & forth? Who's gonna pay for all that shipping on a 65-lb battery? Where is it made?

I'd never buy a mail-order vehicle battery; especially not an overpriced gimmicky one like that. Did you read the reviews? And it's still just a 100Ah battery.

At least the original question is answered: Do we really need two batteries?

You only need just one with the battery in the link posted by JSarge.

Other considerations as Steve said is not part of the question, though.
