I believe they have a certain module that accomplishes this. Either do a search or wait for someone in the k.ow to chime in. And welcome to the site.

Step by Step TCC Lockup Mod for ODB1
There is the lock up for the converter. Or is not even shifting into 4th gear?

its probably running in limp mode since it has no throttle signal i would guess.

i guess we need more info on how the pump was changed

How is the trans being controlled now? On trucks with the electric IP the trans recieves its signal on when to shift from the IP. So if you put a mechanical IP in there it is not receiving a signal unless you did something else. From what I understand there are two possible solutions. One is to add a stand alone computer to control the shifting. Pre 94 4l80e trans (with mechanical IPs) have them. Or there are some threads on here about people wiring the trans somehow without the stand alone computer.

Good luck!

There is a person name Bobbie Martin, he wrote a book on how to change it to Mechanical IP. It is not just a Plug and Play like putting a 93 Lift Pump. Otherwise, more people would have done it.

Bobbie Martin is a member here but I hardly sees him here but you may have to find him. I know he is mostly in the TTS forum.

You really need to do a few searches and gather some info. The switch you wired was probably converter lockup, not OD. You're going to need to get Bobbie Martin's book, an aftermarket TCM, or put an electronic pump on to make it function properly.

The injection pump does nothing for the transmission. It simply injects fuel based on what the PCM tells it, nothing more. The PCM controls the transmission just the same as the 91-93 TCM. The difference is the 94+ PCM also controls the engine.
