4 wheel drive not engaging 1994 K3500

The indicator light is not coming on either. The fuse is good, All the fuses are good unless there is an associated out of box fuse?

I had it in 4x4 for about 5 days. I took it out of 4x4 for about 70 miles and it never went back it. Not even with a lot of cussing when I got stuck 3 times
It was about 7 degrees

encoder motor?

Does anybody have a link to the manual encoder motor replacement kit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the well known Thermal Linear Actuator ( TLA ) which is known for this problem. Every year again, whenn it get's cold outside and the people need/uses the 4WD, they recognize, that the TLA is bad. Replace with the manual POSI-LOK system and it work everytime YOU decide to use it.

I will probably hate myself later but I ordered a new OEM actuator off Ebay for $76.50 and the harness update from oehq.com for about $53.

Just because I think it will be an easier install. Hope I made the right decision.
