Coolant drain?

Time to replace my heater hoses. I've looked but may have missed it. Does the 6.5 TD in my '94 Suburban have a drain plug on the radiator? Best way to drain a little coolant before beginning work? Lower radiator hose?

Any advice appreciated in advance!

There should be a drain on the drivers sideof the radiator IIRC. It is not on the bottom, it is on the side towards the bottom. It may be a little hidden, but its there. Draining out a little always helps to avoid a mess up top.

Use the lower radiator hose to drain, faster.

Another lower drain point is a quick connect below the passenger side where the line goes to the rear heater. I am not sure if that is in the 94 sub.

On my 94 truck there is a drain in the radiator below the drivers side battery. It is a bit difficult to reach but I was able to do that. I had to replace my radiator and at that time I used a holesaw, cut a hole in the radiator core support below the drain and added a length of clear tubing. This will allow me to "save" the coolant in the future to either properly dispose of or reuse if in good condition.
