Found an excellent US Army repair manual on the 6.2-6.5L diesel engines that can be downloaded free online. Its 271 pages in pdf format and contains some of the best illustrations of engine components I've found anywhere. Even includes detailed instructions on teardown and repair of the fuel injection pump. All you need is the Adobe Acrobat reader to view it.

that manual reminds me of when i was in the marines. the fuel driver pump looks just like the fuel pump on both types of generators that i maintained. one had an allis-chalmers straight 6 diesel and the other was a cat straight 6 diesel. replaced a few "rusimasters" on those engines. but they were mechanical and not eletronic.

Wow. Great resource. I was always impressed with military tech manuals when they were required reading; good cure for insomnia, but when the "fit hits the shan", it's good to know your stuff!
Thanx.

I don't have Adobe back on my computer yet  but I already saved the file to my computer. I agree with axiom about making this a sticky, AWESOME find :rockit:

Aside from the 6.5L Camaro, that has to be the most awesome thing 6.5 related a new member has brought to this forum. I'll have to download it at home, boss don't like us putting stuff on the work computers lol

Don't know how to do a sticky. Maybe one of the moderators could do that for us.

Also, I have not looked closely at the website where the manual is located. Who knows, it might be gone tomorrow- or there might be tons of other good stuff there too!
