1994 GMC 6.5 turbo fuel problems

I have a 1994 Gmc 4x4 6.5. It starts fine on cold days or if you havent driven it for about 3 hours. I will drive it to work fine, get on break and it will start up fine, once my half hour break is over and i try starting it it only cranks. And sometimes it will start but only for a couple seconds and then go right back off. I scanned it with Snap-on Modis scanner and it did not pull up any trouble codes or a history of any. i replaced glow plug relay, and fuel filter alredy but it did not help. It also has a 40 hp chip. Please help, Its all i got to drive

1994 gmc 1500 6.5 turbo 6in lift , single 6in stack. 40hp chip 191,000k auto

Yes fill out the diagnostic checklist, these guys can help you troubleshoot just about anything with the right information, in new to this too but i have already been through the pmd issues (FIRST THINGS FIRST DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A GOOD USED OR REFURBISHED PMD) I BOUGHT A GOOD USED ONE AND 3 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD I HAD THE SAME ISSUES ALL OVER AGAIN....... PMD (Pump Mounted Driver), the little black box on the side of the injection pump, looks like a deck of cards ( pump is located in the front of the engine valley), and an FSD is when you remote mount (with a heatsink an extension cable) your black box outside the engine compartment. Pmd problems may not be noticed by the ecu (computer) because it happens so quick. HEAT KILLS PMDS, why are they on the pumpe then?? The fuel running through the pump cools the pmd, a pmd is a BIG resistor. When you shut your engine down is when the pmd isnt being cooled by flowing fuel. So a common fix is to remote mount a pmd>fsd behind the bumper. But, there are so many factors that can lead to a no start situation. fill out that checklist, and fill out a signature about your truck.......

First off, you need to cut and paste the diagnostic checklist here so we can have a starting point on your troubles.

Next, the PMD stands for PUMP MOUNTED DRIVER. It is a black box, about the size of a deck of cards, mounted to the injector pump. The injector pump is electronic, and this controls the pump. They are known to fail in the stock location from heat, and require a relocation kit that moves it to the bumper, mounted on a heatsink, for cooler operation.

In the spirit of TD and KNKREB I will suggest that you goto the FAQ section and read all about the PMD and everything else on the 6.5. Search function helps immensly as well.

But this does sound like a PMD problem, fill in the checklist first tho, particularly the T-Valve test.
