You can go through the top of the pump on your 93 with a ball ended allen wrench(5/32 IIRC), its alot easier to me. I think banks had a writeup on it. Get you a pyrometer first though.

There are 2 ways tol turn up the fuel on a 4911 style mechanical ip. The side cover is a little harder annd may require an intake mannifold removal, but is pretty much fool proof. Going through the top is a little more risky, if you don't get the cover back on correctly the fuel govenor may malfunction and allow the engine to run away to max RPM according to the factory service manual. I went through the side on my '93, didn't remove the intake and it worked just fine. I first turned it up 1/8 turn, then later another 1/8 for 1/4 total. It starts and runs much better, but get gauges first as it will increase your EGT's. I also fabb'd a turbo-master and increased my boost to 11psi max to use the extra fuel. More fuel without more boost just creates more black smoke and very little more power.

I tried going in the top when I turned up pump but the screw was just to tight, I was afraid of striping the allen bolt in the pump and getting metal shavings in the pump a huge no no. Going in through the side was no big deal and I think is easier to gauge the amount to turn the screw.

When going through the top, you have to use a ball ended allen because its a pretty steep angle to the screw. When going trough the side you can use a regular allen wrench, which gives you alot better contact is what Tracy is saying.

Use a high quality wrench if going through the top.
