How Many Hours to Change Injectors

I'm looking for an estimate on how long it will take me to change my injectors with this being my first time doing this job?

First time for me was 8hrs and removing the innner fender and turbo. The second time was 4 to 5 hrs and I didn't remove turbo or inner fender. I would recommend taking the inner fender out and turbo off if the injectors have been in for a long time. If you don't have a injector socket, I would definetly advise to remove inner fender and turbo.

If they have been in for a long time they're just tight and it makes it easier? I don't mind as much taking the inner fender off but I really wanted to avoid messing with the turbo.

The only drama with the turbo may be the four nuts on the studs that hold it to the manifold. I had to heat them the first time off but with anti seize they should no longer pose a problem

The other pit fall is to have a oil return housing to tube gasket on hand when you reinstall. A search should score the GM part number.

With the inner fender out - one man can reattach the down pipe to the back of the turbo --- off is the ez part.

Turbo out the way makes the day go better! but try it - maybe you'll like it - you can always pull it out of the way

Depends on what kind of tools you have....I will be surprised if it takes me more than an hour to change my injectors here in a few weeks....air tools make the job much quicker...

Drivers side: 15 minutes
Passengers side: 8 days

Actually, my first time, with phone calls to GMCTD was 3.5 hours on the passenger side, but my turbo has been on and off a couple times so the bolts aren't frozen.

Then there are some studly members who have done turbo side injectors without removing the turbo.

Do you need to torque them down when you put them in or just give em a good tug. If so how many pounds?
