How much HP and TQ does a stock 6.5L have?

Anyone know how much horsepower and torque a plain old 6.5L has?

My Chilton manual has listing all years. For most years the F motors are rated at 190 HP @ 3400 RPM and 380 fl/lbs @ 1700. The S motors are rated at 180 HP @ 3400 and 360 ft/lbs @ 1800 . However to add some confusion, the is a little * beside the rating for the 97 and 98 years for both the F and S engines. The explination beside the * says "Heavy Duty - 385 ft/lb @ 1800". I have a 3/4 ton S engine,, does that might I have 180 HP and 385 ft/lbs?? Not sure about that but that is what I read here.

95chevyturbo, there is a dyno chart in "My Garage" for my truck when it was bone stock and 43,185 miles. It put 171 hp and 365 lbs/tq to the rear wheels. The Dyno Days chart shows 200.8 hp and an error in the tq. The estimated tq on the board at BD was 468 lbs/tq. That was after all my mods and at about 75,000 miles.

The sticker on my 98 says 195 HP and I read somewhere the torque is just 340 ft/lb's. That torque figure seems a bit low (considering my 1985 Corvette has 320 ft/lb's). Does anyone have any information from a GM source?

Sorry guys, I read that wrong. The sticker says 195 HP, but the torque rating that I read was 430 ft/lbs, not 340!

If the 8th digit on your VIN# is an F then I believe for 95 it should be 195HP and 380 ft/lbs. My 99 F is rated at 195hp and 430ft/lbs. per pubs that I've read. From what I've seen stock dynos are around 145hp and 340 ft/lbs. With just a few add ons like exhaust, computer and injectors ($800 - $1500) 210-220hp and 410 - 425 ft/lbs. is pretty comon on the dyno.

it's the 9th digit on mine..but you know since I have a one ton you would think I would have more torque, dont you think? How much torque do you think a 4" exhaust could add?

I would guess at the dyno you could see as much as 20hp and 30 ft/lbs. Plus I saw about 1.4 mpgs. The stock exhaust especially the down pipe is pretty restrictive. You'll definatley feel the difference and probably hear the turbo a little more too. Most fellow diesel placers usually say get the gauges first (EGT, Trans and Boost) then start with exhaust.
