4door: I did try NAPA, but i think the girl not the sharpest pencil in the box. 195 was all they could offer along with the rest of the parts crowd in this town.

Got mines from ssdiesel. I know that a 180 stat for Chrysler fits the 6.5 twin stat, but unfortunately I can't remember wich pattern...
Pruittx2, I'm not sure a 160 should be a good choice on our diesel, the ECM should think the engine is still cold and will keep running in pre-heat mode...

According to Bill at Heath Diesel you want the 190 stat for optimum performance. If you have any cooling issues on a 6.5 he's the one to call. Straight up info, no bull, no sales pitch.
I called him regarding info on his and a competitors product. By the time the conversation was done he'd convinced me not to buy either. Instead he recommended a third parties product (water wetter) and a thorough radiator cleaning. Problems gone a I saved at least a couple hundred bucks.

You'll get less mileage with a lower thermostat. I noticed mine was runing a bit cool lately, about 180F. After installing new 195F thermostats, mileage is up almost 1 mpg.
Remember, the diesel is a heat machine. Warm cylinders will make igniting the mixture easier, giving it more time to burn the fuel and convert it to energy to turn the driveshaft.
