Have you tried power straight from the battery to the fuel solenoid just in case the power gets interrupted somehow? I guess it would still restart if that were the issue but I'm grasping at straws here

Man me too! I did put a meter on it and verified the selenoid has power the entire time. Probably should do that with the lift pump too, make sure it's not interrupted somehow...

UPDATE. Alright so I ran a hose straight out of a diesel can sitting on my fender higher than the ip. It started up, ran for a few seconds and died?. Crank crank crank...

Crank crank crank. Nothing. I tried raising the can. Still no start. Guess I wait a few hours and see. Starter is starting to squeal a little weird and there is a hitch in its rhythm for sure. Been working this new starter to death.

Did the hose go directly from the jug to the IP ?

"Did the hose go directly from the jug to the IP "

Yea 1 hose connector (barbed) fitting to add a length of hose then in can. Seems like I just introduced air. No smoke or popping at all anymore...

As a last ditch effort, I would take the top cover off the IP and see if it runs longer. Not sure if you want to attempt this without some way to shut it down.

Here is more info in this link.

Ya I had thought that also but you have to be very confidant in your ability to stuff a heavy rag, denim jacket into the air inlet pipe to the turbo to starve it of air and get it stopped if it does run, and keep running. Not something for faint of heart that's for sure.

You'll be burping fuel all over the place as the fan will blow back any fuel that spills out of the IP at the same time, it's gona be messy....

With the cover off the return is out of play, all the fuel that goes through the return would just be spilling out.
